Building Bridges for Global Trade: TACCS Delegation Meets with Aegean Region Chamber of Industry

The Turkish American Chamber of Commerce of the South (TACCS) delegation recently convened with the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry (EBSO) in Izmir, Türkiye, to strengthen economic ties and promote bilateral trade initiatives. The meeting was graciously hosted by EBSO Deputy Chairman Metin Akdaş and Board Member Süha Kahraman, with TACCS President Erhan Cevikel and TACCS Türkiye Representative Oğuz Aydemir in attendance.

The discussions centered on fostering collaborative efforts to support the safe and sustainable entry of companies from the Aegean Region into U.S. markets. Both sides emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships, knowledge-sharing, and tailored support to help regional businesses overcome challenges and seize opportunities in the United States.

A testament to the region’s economic vitality, the Aegean Region achieved a remarkable 8% increase in exports in October 2024, growing from $2.6 billion to $2.8 billion U.S. dollars. This growth highlights the region’s position as a key player in Türkiye’s industrial and economic landscape.

The Aegean Region boasts a diverse and dynamic industrial base, hosting critical centers for petrochemical production, energy, textile manufacturing, organic agriculture, and the iron and steel industries. Over the past 15 years, the region has also become a leader in logistics and port operations, making it Türkiye’s fastest-growing industrial hub. These developments have further solidified the Aegean Region as a gateway for Turkish exports and investments on the global stage.

TACCS extends its heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Metin Akdaş and Mr. Süha Kahraman for their invaluable insights, thoughtful perspectives, and warm hospitality. This meeting marks another significant step in our shared mission to enhance trade relations and unlock new opportunities for businesses in both Türkiye and the United States.

We look forward to continuing this partnership and supporting the Aegean Region in its journey to achieve even greater success in the international marketplace.
