TACCS Hosts Influential Gathering with Distinguished Turkish and American Business Leaders

A Convergence of Insight and Opportunity: TACCS Meeting Highlights Visionary Leadership, Entrepreneurial Spirit, and Future Talent Development

On December 15th, the Turkish American Chamber of Commerce of the South (TACCS) had the privilege of organizing a distinguished assembly, graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Resul Şahinol, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Miami, Mr. Oğuz Köşker, Consul of the Republic of Turkey in Miami, representatives from the Turkish Students Association (TSA) in the USA, prominent Turkish business leaders, and Mr. Ömer İnce, Commercial Attaché. Furthermore, the gathering was honored by the presence of Mr. Bekir Okan, Chair of the Board of Okan Holding.

The highlight of the event was an inspiring address by Mr. Bekir Okan, who recounted his illustrious journey in the business world and announced his upcoming ventures in Miami. He generously offered invaluable advice to the attending students, providing insights into the intricacies of business life and expressing his commitment to fostering future employment prospects for them.

Adding to the richness of the discussion, Ms. Arzu Tekir, the Managing Partner of Treeo VC, imparted her profound knowledge and experience in nurturing successful startups. Her contribution significantly enriched the discourse, providing a valuable perspective on venture capital and entrepreneurial growth.

Dr. Ruhi Balci, an active Executive Board Member of TACCS, shared his experiences regarding the expansion of Gorhan Holding LLC into the U.S. market. His account of successfully establishing a furniture manufacturing enterprise in the competitive U.S. environment offered practical insights and underscored the opportunities available for Turkish-American businesses in the U.S.

The meeting was also a celebration of the future leaders of our business community, as we were delighted to welcome members of the Turkish Students Association. These bright students, who will soon join TACCS as Young TACCS members, represent the potential and promise of future management and leadership within our organization and the broader Turkish-American business landscape.

This noteworthy gathering made it to the renowned ‘Pazar Gunaydin’ add-on of the Sabah Newspaper in Türkiye, a testament to its impact and importance. Esteemed journalist Funda Karayel, known for her insightful coverage, brought this remarkable event to the limelight in her section of the newspaper.
