A Productive Meeting in Izmir

The TACCS delegation recently convened with the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry in Izmir, Turkey. The meeting was hosted by EBSO Deputy Chairman Metin Akdas and Board Member Suha Kahraman, with TACCS President Erhan Cevikel and TACCS Turkey Representative Oguz Aydemir also in attendance.

Aegean Region’s Export Growth

In October 2024, the Aegean Region achieved an impressive 8 percent increase in exports, rising from $2.6 billion to $2.8 billion U.S. dollars. This growth highlights the region’s potential and its strong presence in international trade.

Aegean Region’s Industrial and Logistics Strengths

The Aegean Region is home to important industrial and logistics centers and has become Turkey’s fastest-growing region in these fields. The area has seen significant investments in petrochemicals, energy, textiles, organic agriculture, iron and steel industries, and port operations in the last 15 years. These developments further establish the region as a key player in the Turkish economy.
